Since 2003, we have led an effort to protect orphaned and abandoned children on the streets and in the villages of Ghana. Africa's orphan crisis can be solved and we can do it together.

Listen to Jim Ferwerda's (WAMM Board Chairman) testimony about how working with West African Mercy Ministries has changed his life and how partnering with us can have an impact on your life too.

Our Mission/Vision

West African Mercy Ministries is a non-profit, faith-based organization that works in Ghana, West Africa. Our mission is to Glorify God and Love Jesus through Mercy Ministry. We see this happening as we Contagiously Champion Compassionate Christianity. Modeling mercy is not enough. We long to motivate mercy ministries in followers of Jesus Christ.

Our Means

HOMe (House Of Mercy)—West African Mercy Ministries has created and constructed a hospice/home for terminally ill and special needs children in Accra, Ghana. Here we seek to meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of such children in cooperation with Ghana’s Department of Social Welfare.

Hope Community Baptist Church—WAMM has had the privilege of partnering with Hamilton Baptist Church in Hamilton, VA to plant a community-based mercy center other wise know as a local church. We believe that allowing a community to see God’s mercy will make it more likely for them to hear of God’s mercy as presented in the gospel. We long to see this model replicated.

H4Me (House for Mercy)—In keeping with our desire to be contagious in our extension of mercy, WAMM has a Guest House in which we can host individuals and teams who desire to become personally involved in extending mercy in Ghana. This facility is within an easy walk to HOMe, easing involvement in that part of our ministry.
