-Children’s Home-

HOMe (House Of Mercy) is a Children’s Hospice/Home started by West African Mercy Ministries, located in Teiman, Ghana. Our aim is to help care for some of the 160,000 orphaned children in Ghana (UNAIDS 2009), targeting those who are terminally ill, abused, abandoned or with special needs. But HOMe was designed to be more than that. It was also designed to be:
A Place For Mercy
In Exodus 33 Moses asked God, “Please show me your glory.”And God promised to do so in an unexpected way. He said, “I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.”
At HOMe we believe that God was saying that His preferred means of being glorified was through the extension of His grace/mercy. HOMe is primarily about glorifying God and we believe that the best way we can do that is to be a conduit through which He extends His mercy to those who need it.
A Place For Worship
It should come as no surprise, then, that HOMe desires to worship God and to encourage others to worship Him too. James 1:27 tells us that true worship (religion) involves caring for orphans and widows in their affliction. That is why we say that HOMe is a place for worship—real worship! As God’s people get involved in extending His mercy to the terminally ill, abused, abandoned and special needs children of Ghana, they are worshiping; they are expressing to a watching world just how valuable their God is.
A Place For You
Have you ever felt empathy and apathy at the same time? Have you ever longed to reach out to children in need on the other side of the world (empathy) but resigned yourself in frustration because you thought there was no way you could do it (apathy)? You are exactly the kind of person for whom HOMe was developed.
We want HOMe to be a place that helps you have your own ministry of mercy in West Africa.
We want to help you worship God through ministering His mercy at HOMe from your home. That way you can personally touch the lives of children in Ghana without having to move to West Africa.
Please contact us using the information provided under the “Contact” tab. Share with us your dreams for helping these hurting children and let’s see if we can come up with a way to make those dreams come true. We are waiting to hear from you.
